Before I get a Sirius Radio - I thought I'd ask if anyone has any experience using it in the Abacos? Any special antenna needed?
thanks

My wife and I went with XM radio for 2 months in July and aug while cruising abaco.
The weather channel had good forecasting via XM for hurricane time and music is great.
We used the standard antennae out of the box. Out on deck worked best.
Supposedly XM is good to 500 miles offshore. Sirius is supposed to be considerably less.
Good luck

THe sattilite footprint for XM covers the Bahamas pretty well.

Hopefully my MyFi will work down there next time we come down!

I have sirius in car and at home. Just dropped the magnetic antenna on the roof of my car and works great.

They both work great. There is a prior post if you search back.

Thanks all,
I ended up with XM only because they had a Portable XM2go radio - holds 5 hours of recorded music, news, sports, e.g. if don't want around with the antenna pinned to your shirt :-) . This little radio is pretty cool. Here's hoping it works just as great in the Abacos. Rumor has it that it that XM and Sirius worked fine in the hurricanes too.. we'll see.
