Abaco Little League

Just so ya'll know, they are trying to start up and Abaco-wide Little League for the coming season. It is in infant stages and hopefully, will be able to pull things together to do so.
Lots of you ask what you can bring when you come over--and donations of time, money or equipment are now added to the list...
we are working on getting duty free status for equipment, but that is by no means a "given"...will have to let you know.

Papa Nasty is over in the US now, and has begun a drive over there to set up a collection point--keep fingers crossed, and consider helping out...we all know that the benefits of sportsmanship are unlimited, and this is a great beginning!

There is a CLINIC scheduled this Sat the 31st, at 10am at Abaco Central H.S.--everyone is welcome!
This will be to assess players, public interest, and meet some of the people who will be putting this together for the Jan 2010 season!
Parents--your children will be bringing home flyers from schools this week.

We'll be glad to fly the equipment over from Ft. Lauderdale - so if anyone wishes to donate, call us (Locair) at 954 359 3001 and we'll tell you where to drop or ship the items to - as long as we have someone who can pick them up in Marsh or Treasure.

THANKS NATE!! We will take you up on that! Doug has some things to bring over, and I will email him your info in case he does not see this...anyone else who would like to help with donations or equipment...we now have DUTY FREE STATUS! I will post the email address here tomorrow detailing who to contact with receipts to enable duty free importing of baseball equipment.
Of course, you are all donating to the Haitian refugees, and I feel funny about asking for more generosity, but if you are so moved...Abaco boys and girls will appreciate it very much!

We now have coaches, a governing board, and kids playing already--anybody with corporate interest, or you know someone who has...PM me here! Thanks in advance...
