Dr. Ralph,
I wanted to post this here so everyone could read it. I took your advice and ordered the Cruiser's Guide to Abaco 2005. Just received it (took less than a week after internet order) and absolutely love it. We are making our second visit in March and will have use of a car to explore Marsh Harbor. As you said, buy this even if you don't plan on boating. There is great info. on stores, maps, things to do, places to see, etc. I'll certainly be packing it for the trip. Counting the days!

I agree, My wife and I went to Abaco the first time last March and we lovved it. We're going back in April and I still have my 2004 guide and have practically memorized it cover to cover. Can't wait til I get back down there and see all the things I missed.

One thing people seem to overlook in the guide is the great phone directory in the back. It's a guide in itself to what services are offered and where.

Saw your reference the "Cruiser's Guide to Abaco 2005". I assume this is Steve Dodge's latest edition; is this correct? If so, where can I get it? I checked amazon.com under Steve Dodge (author) and they only list the older editions (2001, etc).
Thanks in advanced

Got my 2005 at Boaters' World, after having sent away for the 2003 version from Amazon. Can't win 'em all.

We've had ours for a week and had totally missed the phone directory in the back. Thanks for the "heads up"!

Got my Dodge Guide, and like so many others, whether you are going to do some boating or not, It is such a useful book. We are coming to Guana Cay in March for our first trip to the Abacos, and just really looking forward to our trip. I am finding this board really informative and everyone so willing to give advise and tips to us newcomers to your islands. Doing the countdown also.

Found many additions/improvements to the Dodge Guide from 04 to 05. Certainly a worthwhile book for any visitor to the abacos.-48 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am trying to buy a copy of the satellite map of the Abacos that is used on the back cover of the "The Cruising Guide to Abaco ". The site page (www.abacostuff.com) is not coming up. Any ideas?

It doesn't come up for me, either, and when I Googled it, there were no relevant responses. Wonder if they are done.....

I don't think anything can beat Dodge's book for Abaco info--if anyone has landed at Elbow and wants a copy-head to Vernon's Bakery. He's got a bunch of copies for sale.
