Hate to say it but AFFORDABLE and HOSTILE are two words you will never hear in the Abacos. :D

Sorry I couldn't resist, there are no hostels as far as I know. Grabber's in Guana has some reasonable rooms and there are some folks who have small effeciencies that they rent out. May want to go on VRBO.

Luft, I do not know of any hostels in Abaco. The Abaco Inn is having special rates for Nov/Dec. You can get a bayside bungalow for $90 a night and it includes breakfast. Remember though, there is a 25% addition for taxes, gratuities and ammenities (kayaks, sailboat, snorkle gear, etc.).They also provide transportation into Hope Town. The Inn is a very nice place. There are a few rental places in Hope Town that are around $500-$600 a week, google Elbow Cay Properties and look at their "list of homes". Hope this helps.

I'll have to do some digging, but there is a church in Dundas that has 4 or 5 rooms to let. Easy walk to town, or rent a bike or scooter.
