While there are numerous complaints about this airline, I wanted to share my experience.
My father died right after I got to the Abacos and I was having trouble finding flights to return from FL to NY, it was the end of school vacation week. I arrived at Marsh Harbour Airport and had a scheduled flgith on Twin Air. Not knowing if that flight would be on time, I inquired about he Yellow Air Taxi flight (YAT). My only compliment is that the YAT employee at MHH who went out of his way to be helpful. I was trying to get to Ft. Lauderdale as soon as possible to see if I could work out a better flight to NY. I initially decided to take my original flgiht until the YAT employee came over and told me their plane was already the Treasure Cay. It was agreed that I would buy a ticket, as you have to do so a certain period of time in advance. I was told if something didn't work out, the charges would be reversed. The plane wasn't in Treasure Cay, my plane arrived first and I was again, told the charges would be reversed.
As you can guess, based on other complaints, the charges were never reversed. I've called YAT and gotten nowhere, they don't return calls. The last time I called I asked to speak to the manager and they told me he would be back from the gate in 30 mintues and call me back. Of course, he/she did not.
I'm not done with Yellow Air Taxi and it was interesting to see that when I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, they have never responded to any complaints that have gone through that agency.
I would seriuosly think twice about using this ariline because if there is a problem, you will not get you money back and they provide NO customer service.
I don't know if YAT still monitors these boards, but if so, I'd like to publicly thank them for taking of advantage of me when I'm trying to get home for my father's funeral!

Ive read so many complaints like this about YAT. I would certainly never fly this airline. Never.
If you charged to credit card, dispute the charges with the credit card company. They will reverse the charges and work it out if they can with the airline. I am sorry about the death of your Father.

THanks for the codolences, I miss him. It's been a little over a month since it all happened, didn't have the energy to fight with them at first. So you think there is still something I can do with my creidt card?
I really hope things turn for the better for Beth & Chris. Even though I am with a competitor, its a sad day when an airline has failures or issues like this. No one wants to do this to their customers.
However, the agent in MHH, if its a gentleman whose name starts with a "G", he has a history of doing stuff on his own without talking to the mothership. This wouldn't be the first time he's done something like this...

Yes, NYAmy, call the number on the back of your credit card and let them know that you never received this service - and you want the charge reversed.
They can do it for you.
And I am sorry about the loss of your dad - daddys and little girls are really special. :(

Thanks for hte input, I will pursue the issue with my credit card, but it's about more than just money at this point. Since I'm not the first person on this board that Yellow Air Taxi owes a refurnd, they refuse to return calls, I want to file a complaint with the appropriate agency. In addition to the airfare they refuse to refund, what about the taxes they are collecting for people who don't show up on their passanger list? Someone needs to take a close look at this ariline. So who regulates these smaller airlines? Thanks!
You could start with the Better Business Bureau.

You could start with the Better Business Bureau.
Thanks I already filed a complaint with them. YATs score with the South FL BBB is an F because they failed to respond to any previous complaints. It's another good resource for people to check when deciding which airline to take. All airlines receive complaints, that's a given, but people should avoid any airiline that fails to make any attempt to resolve customer complaints.
Since I have a credit on another airline, I'm tempted to try small claims court. I get a FL vacation and YAT has to give me an answer, unless of course they don't show up. Since it snowed in NY yesterday, a FL vacation is tempting! SNow in April is just too much!! As I said in the previous post, it's not about the money anymore, it's about making them respond to customer complaints. After I decdied to stick with my scheudled flight on Twin Air, the MHH agent sought me out and told me their plane was alreaady in Treauser Cay which wasn't even true.
It's nice to see positive posts re. the new airline Island Pass, I may try thme next time. I miss Vintage Props, I never had any problems with them.

YAT canceled our flight via email 48hrs previous to departure. They would not respond to phone calls or emails. I disputed the charges after getting no responce from YAT.
It took almost three months to get our money back via American Express. When informed by AMX the funds were to be credited to my account, I was told that YAT had never responded to their inquiry at all! Which is why it took so long for them to credit my account. It may take awhile, but you should get your money back. Good luck.

My sympathies for your loss & for your transportation troubles. My question to all on this web-is there a reason why you don't use American Airlines/Eagle? We use them twice monthly from JFK to MHH for many years with very few delays and only one delayed bag (happened to be full of frozen meat). We check in / get rid of bags full of necessities & spare parts and pick all up in MHH. Only problem is the time-5 hrs down &, as of this year, 8 hrs back (used to be 5 & 5). We did try Jet Blue to FLL + Cont to MHH to use up points but have returned to AA due to baggage handling. Please advise if anyone can offer a more convenient plan

Seeing are recent post inquiring about Yellow Air Taxi, thought I'd update you on my experience. I filed a complaint with my credit card company, YAT actually responded, but with totally falsified information. They will not give a refund, but that's not the point anymore. The best part of the reply was that they flat out denied that they have a male ticket agent in Marsh Harbour. Am I supposed to believe that some bored Bahamian impersonated a ticket agent on the one day I just happened to be there?
They replied to the credit card company mentioning a series of calls, one of which never even took place. THhey said on the first call they offered me a credit from one year from the date of purchase. What really happened was the same thing that happens to everyone else, I was told someone would call me back and they never did. My father just died, I was in no mood to argue with this company, so I would have just taken the credit since I go to the Abaos one a year. Then, they said that I called back the next day which is not true. The only times I called were from work and 3/14 was a Saturday. It gets better.........they said I wanted to verify the dates the ticket they never offered me was good and I inquired about a name change. For anyone who knows me, I've been going to the Abacos by myself to visit friends for many years, why would I need to inquire about a name change??!!!!!
Initially the credit card company wanted to do a joint call and many of you'll be glad to know they have a new customer servicce policy in place. They won't take calls, you have to e-mail them and they will respond in 24 hours. Anyone care to guess if they respond to customer complaints via e-mail either?? Nope!
I may have a credit on that airline, but I will never fly them. How they remain in business is a mystery to me.
