Groceries in Hope Town

Hello again

What can we expect (our first trip in Feb) with regards to what's available at grocery store(s?) in Hope Town vis-a-vis what we see here in the US? For my wife and I, we're flexible. But we're bringing our 1-yr. old, and wondered about the availability (and price) of things such as Gerber dry cereal mix, baby food in jars, disposable diapers, etc. Obviously we can pack a bunch of this stuff to bring with us, but would rather not lug a ton of it if we didn't have to.

There are several small stores on Elbow. You can stop at one of the large stores in Marsh Harbour when you arrive, before you get the ferry over. This is your best bet for all needs. Sometimes on the outer islands they run out of items until the ferry arrives for the weeks delivery. Otherwise , the stores on Elbow have all needs and are run by wonderful people.

You can get all of the items you want at Vernon's Grocery..also fresh bread and Key Lime pies

Veggies and fresh meats in Marsh, almost everything else is on the island. LVA is a really cool spot to stock up in hopetown. And speaking of meat I have had 4 or 5 whole beef tenderloins from Marsh grocery stores and we honestly thought they were better and less expensive than home.:)

All of the stores in Hope Town have a good variety. Vernons has the best baked bread and key lime pie!! We seemed to find just about everything we needed between Sweetings Grocery and LVA Convenience Store. If you are staying in town Harbor View Grocery has quite a few items, but seems to run out faster that the other stores. The stores are closed on Sundays except for the LVA Convenience store which is open from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm just in case you forget something.
