Hello everyone,

I will be getting married in Treasure this fall and need suggestions for entertainment. These are my options and I am looking for some input. AJ the DJ, Antonio Fawkes DJ, Brown Tips Band, Estin Sawyer DJ, Jared from Coconuts DJ, and Ozzie Parker One man band. We would love to have a live performer but have never heard Ozzie or Brown Tips. Has anyone listened to them play if so would you suggest them for our wedding? Suggestions??????

Brown Tip gives a very lively performance with a little bit of DJing, a little bit of karaoke, and whole lot of rake and scrape. He will have everyone in the place up and dancing.

We just went to a wedding in Hope Town, and Estin Sawyer was just totally and completely wonderful! I can't say enough about him, or his music.

I wished he had a CD we could have bought. Laid back, kind, he just made the night!

Patty, you were suppose to tell us who the surprise was that was getting married!

Ah, I forgot Angie!

We have a private college in Canada, and we have summer school up here in heat and humidity-land, but we started having winter school in Hope Town, three days (summer school is 6) and this year we brought down about 26 in total, of our grads and students (and some of them brought spouses and/or kids).

When everyone arrived in Hope Town they had waiting for them, in their house or cottage, an invitation to a wedding of one of our students and her love. No one had any idea, so it was great fun - no pressure, no worries about wedding gifts or dressing for the occasion.

Just love and laughter, great food done by the Lodge and wonderful music with Estin Sawyer, and a cake to die for from our own Hope Town pastry chef - Kent LeBoutellier. Lemon, huge, beautiful and the bride ensured that there was enough to eat in class for the next three days, too!

I might sound like I was most excited about the cake... ;)
I kinda was.

Let's see if I can post a shot of the bride and groom after their surprise wedding.

Sounds wonderful. Pretty picture. Thanks Patty. Are you all settled in? We came home to broken water pipes again which the plumber just fixed yesterday. Now, we are off to see the grandkids. So sorry again, that I missed our meeting. I was really disappointed in myself.

Have not seen him on stage, but Brown Tips gave an impromptu performance at the airport a few trips ago for my daughters and i as we waited for our flight home out of Marsh Harbour. He had a great personality and his music was wonderful- especially since it was on the spot and he had no music- just "a capella".

We had Estin Sawyer play at my son's wedding a few years ago and I've been listening to him since the old days of Happy Hour at Wally's. He does a great job. He brought the Saw Man with him, which also added to the entertainment.:)

Estin Sawyer sang at our daughter's wedding in Hope Town a few years ago. He is wonderful. I play his CD all the time and make sure we go see him in Marsh whenever we are there. My daughter and her husband and all the guests loved him. By the way, Randy Curry from Green Turtle did a fantastic job as photographer.

Does your Estin Sawyer c.d. have a web site on it so, that we can possibly buy a copy?

Everyones input is very helpful. Does Estin Sawyer obviously is a live entertainer correct? The paper work I got from the Bahama Beach Club says he is just a D.J.

Estin is a live entertainer. Tom Hazel from Hope Town Harbour Lodge recommened him for our daughter's wedding and we love to see him whenever we can. He lives in Marsh Harbour. We bought his CD in a shop in Marsh and also directly from him and his lovely wife. I'll see if I can find his website. We haven't been to Abaco for 1 1/2 years when we had dinner with him and listened to him play. His wife did a dance with all our guests at our daughter's reception. The dance was called "Brown girl in the middle" and was so much fun.

He's a nice guy, plays the guitar and sings. I too remember him from Wally's back in the 80's. He used to drive a cab back then. I showed up at the airport with a guitar and he zeroed in on me as a customer to talk shop. I have a cassette tape from back then...no where to play it anymore! LOL

It would be fun to add Brown Tip to the party. If your guests get rowdy, Brown Tip would be a good fit at second half of the party as he has A LOT of energy and the rake and scrape stuff is really cool.

I used to professionally play many weddings here in FL. The first half was usually subdued and serious, with the formal slow dancing. But inevitably we'd have to kick into gear with much more upbeat material as the alcohol flowed and people got wilder.

I could see having two entertainers would be fun.

O.K. I have to ask. What does rake and scrape mean?

Rake and Scrape features washboard, saw, jug, maracas etc. often joined by other instruments such as guitar.

Sometimes too many choices can confuse anyone!!!

But on Green Turtle Cay, we love the Gully Roosters with Kevin McIntosh.

Kevin also plays on his own as a one man band 'Island Spice'

Kevin McIntosh at home is 242-365-4006 and at work 242-365-4338

I've seen Estin Sawyer's CD in several shops in Marsh. I bought several of them from him one time and was playing it in our store here in Arizona and a lady asked about the music. She talked me into selling her one of our CD's that we had brought back for gifts for some of our wedding guests.

Google Estin Sawyer for his website

he doesnt yet have any of his mucis on his site, says he is working on it.

if you book him make sure he sings "Red Red Wine". it is always a favorite of ours when he sings it.

Thanks abceram!
And compcreate - logical, eh?

If I can't find a Canadian heading south who will pick up a CD for me, I will make sure I do it myself later this year!

Thanks for the info. He is a sweetie.
