Boaters butcher endangered wildlife and post on facebook

if you want them. some of the Villains alleged names are Alex Rust, Evan Harrell and Vannessa Star Palm. There is an Alex Rust still on facebook who is a purdue alumni wearing a pirate patch. These disturbing photos were allegedly on his web page. He has since taken them down but there are hundreds of screen shots of same. The photos are disgusting, grabbing and butchering the tame iguanas etc. dinghy full of infantile conch. its gross.

OUr goal is to post everywhere we can to bring attention so that the maximum sentence will be given and to set an example that cruelty
and disregard is not tolerated.

We hope to find an American Enviromental organisation who will press further charges. W got the email and photos yesterday from our partner in Nassau and vowed to help however we could.

Anything you can do to help in posting on other sites will be appreciated.

we understand that only two of the villians have been captured. we have photos of at least 4 persons. we have a total of 8 photos, one is grilling iguanas, one is grabbing them from what appears to be alans, one is holding up proudly , one shows butchered, a dinghy full of infantile conch, they are gross and worst than you can imagine. we hope the other perpetrators are caught soon. they were proudly displayed on facebook. .

please help capture other persons if you can and let this story be known
we can email you the actual 8 photos. please pass them on so this doesnt happen again and the perpetrators get the maximum sentence.

UPDATE:

Vanessa and Alex were released froim jail in Georgetown yesterday. The bail? $500.00 each. They are scheduled for trial in Georgetown on Tuesday 2/10. But, most on the island believe that they will flee.


Observations from the photos:
#1: The short haired guy has a green bracelet on his wrist in the photo with the lizards. Where in Nassau (club/hotel) do they use these (if they were seen in Nassau they are obviously working their way down the islands). Is it something Atlantis uses? Or, (see #7) maybe they were working their way up from Turks / D.R. (a bracelet from a club/resort in those parts)?
#2: The lizard bbq is disgusting – furthermore, they are not even preparing it properly. I have seen it done properly in Andros by guys that raised their own lizards.
#3: The conch are not regulation size. They also do not know how to properly extract it. I hope that they broke some fingers and got shell shards in their eyes from their spastically retarded shell smashing exercises.
#4: The Strawberry Grouper in the last photo is not regulation size, and, regardless, I believe it is not grouper season.
#5: Maybe I am wrong but it looks like they are doing all of this in the Marine Reserve (unless, see #7).
#6: What pier are they standing on? I would think that it would have to be a pier in the Marine Reserve area. It looks easy enough to identify. But, that leads one to ask, what pier in the Marine Reserve area would have a cutting table on it of that size. Furthermore, what pier in that area would have a large cutting table along with no people around to see these rednecks’ activities?
#7: In further looking at the photo of the larger lizard it looks like it might be tagged in a similar fashion to the ones on Sandy Cay (past Little Exuma/Hog Cay). It is hard to make a full determination per the photo.

we had a report from someone who was at sampson last week. they met the guy and the girl, dont know names. they are on a red 27 ft sailboat, no money, no jobs, no outboard on dinghy, and no clue of anything so says my friend. the girl is from the burbs of chicago and the guy is from indiana.
they are approximately 27 years old. . From what i have read , I undrstand the suspect posted these atrocities on facebook and several bahamaians saw the photos and so it became viral and was sent to the national director of the trust. we were in the loop also and volunteered to help. the wrist bands look like atlantis to me, the beach pass wristbands. which would fit. There is a ( suspected person) on facebook who looks to me, amazing similiair. check it out. we might be wrong. question if we had the name of the boat it would be helpful.
my fear is that nothing will happen.

well, certainly sad and bad judgement. And it is easy for all of us to be reactive. I just wish people could get as worked up about our human children who need our help. The weaker and weakest among us. Maybe we can all think about them in a proactive way this new week ahead of us.:)
