found out we'll be staying on Guana Cay at Orchid Bay marina for a couple nights.
other than the beach at Nippers - what are some other great spots to snorkle? thanks - we're thinking of golf cart rentals to get around.....
any other "don't miss this" places on GC would be most appreciated.
thanks!
12 days!!!:)

Snorkeling on the Sea side in front of and around Troy's Dive Shop is a good spot. They also rent bikes and kayaks, I believe.Having a drink and a meal at Jerry's "Hang Ten", right at the turn to Nipper's.Having a drink and a meal at Grabber's, enjoy their hammocks and lounge chairs on the water.Playing the ring toss at either spot, catch the sunset at either spot.Going inside at Nipper's new "indoor bar/restaurant", if it's too cold/windy to be outside.Try out the new Art Cafe breakfast offerings.Golf cart around the island and explore (you can rent from Orchid Bay or Donna's Cart Rentals).Visit Milo and check out his wonderful produce, jewelry and other goodies.Take a walk either way on the beach from Nipper's. Enjoy!

Norvell -
thanks!
there's a weeks worth of things right there.
question - you mentioned Orchid Bay rents golf carts - did not see that anywhere, thought Donna's was the only rental place on GC.
is there someone/someplace particular I need to look/contact?
thanks so much!
getting closer each day!!!

We liked snorkeling at High Rocks. It has been 7 years since we have been to Guana, though, and at that time we were able to get there by golf cart but now it is gated off for Orchid Bay. You can walk down the beach to get there, though. Just ask the locals or someone here will tell you the best way to get there.

Troy and Maria have Dive Guana - located on Fisher's Bay. They have a cool shop with cool gifts and stuff and they are a great dive team - they can take you to the reefs on the north side of Guana for a snorkel or dive, or to Fowl Cay for same. They are great... extremely knowledgeable. Eat or drink after a trip with them - but they are not to be missed upon visiting Guana Cay. Definately get in the water when visiting Guana Cay! (I think they have shortie-wet-suits too if the weather is a little chilly)...:)

Since you will be staying at Orchid Bay marina, you should be able to rent a golf cart and should be able to get through the gate. Just ask at the office. You would go through the gate, stay to the left and follow the road until you get to the area on the left where there are bridges across the "ponds" of water. You can go across the first bridge, I think. If not there is a road further down to your left. Turn left down that road ( the road is a grassy so don't think you are not on a road) and you will see another bridge, go over it. You will see a gazebo on the beach. Park the cart, walk over the hill to the beach and you will be at High Rocks. If its high tide, you will have to climb across the rocks.

The above statement doesn't surprise me at all.

Joester, its very easy to find. As I said, ask at the Orchid Bay office and they will tell you if you will even be allowed through the gate to go by cart to High Rocks. They can then, give you directions.

Pat is correct. High Rock is very easy to find, either by walking down the beach heading south, or going through Orchid Bay. Reefs are very close to shore, and easy to reach from either side of high rock. Very nice.

When you see this scene you have arrived! The last few photo's actually show the approach and the pools where the "high rocks" actually are.

Any place on Great Guana is amazing. The reefs are just off shore and the snorkeling is great. Diving with Troy at Dive Guana is great too, definitely scuba if you have the chance. Have fun!! I don't get there until June.
