5 months and counting till we arrive in Hope Town. Its been 8 years since we were there last. 8 years ago we traveled with our little girl and this year that same girl is a young lady. We also will be accompanied by her boyfriend on this trip. She will come back to Ohio with a big diamond on her finger:D. Any ideas to the perfect spot for such a once in a lifetime moment? It is so wonderful to day dream about this instead of thinking of the 12 inches of snow expected in the next 24 hours.

I have only been to Hope Town for a day trip, but the top of the light house would be pretty good place to pop the question. From photos, Tahiti beach looks great, too. But I am sure the frequent visitors or locals can come up with some good options.

Recently someone hung a "will you marry me" banner from the lighthouse and flew in on their private plane and buzzed the lighthouse where she could see the banner. That was pretty awesome.

Wow...what a great idea but it just wont work for this couple. I do know that they are planning to do alot of walking on the beach in the evening. Keep those ideas coming!

Hey Youngsters, I believe you spent a couple of hours in ourhouse 8 years ago and I remember that little girl. I will be in Hope Town fro 3 Feb to 7 May. Will you be here during that time?

Hi Buckeye....I remember our visit. Now we have been transplanted from Cape Coral, Florida to Wooster, Ohio. Yes that little blond haired girl is the one. We wont be able to get there until about June 6. Maybe a week earlier..we haven't firmed up the dates yet. A message in a bottle might work if its a Mountain Dew bottle. That's as hard as our drinks get in this family. Not to mention that the young lady is a preacher's kid(not the normal rebellious kind).

The North beach behind the Methodist Church was a beautiful place of our daughter's wedding and would be wonderful for a proposal. We began taking our little girl to Hope Town when she was 12 and when she was 24 she got married there. Congrats to all.

Last summer our two friends came with us to Abaco and he had the intent to propose while there. We took the boat to the Pelican Cays and picked a deserted little cay- gorgeous beach, nobody around for miles. There was a cooler with lunch and wine, and he was sitting at the edge of the waves with her, then popped on one kneee and pulled the ring out of his pocket. Truly remarkable. We even renamed that little cay Celebration Cay for our purposes. Congrats and good luck to the future bride and groom. Make sure he has a camera- it was a great moment to capture.

North beach will be the site of our wedding on Feb 1st. It's gorgeous! But the top of the lighthouse sounds pretty spectacular. Don't know if I could say yes after that climb! And how about this snow. It's up to 8 inches here in Toledo and still coming down!

Thanks for all these suggestions. Our little girl loves Vernon's bread. The first time we flew home from Abaco, we had 8 loaves in our suitcases! We may have to make a special request to Vernon to bake a "special" loaf just for us with a surprise inside. I do panic a bit thinking of that ring being out of our site:) The picnic basket on the beach sounds so romantic. Our future son will have to make up his mind. He shouldn't have any trouble doing that considering that is all he thinks about! SNOW....yes here in Wooster we have 8 inches also. We gained about an inch in the hour and a half it took me to shovel the one side of the driveway.
