The Cruisers Net just got word that AIRGATEcharter is the website of a new airline between here and N FL!!
They have a desk at MHH, the number is 367-3636.
Will provide service Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun and Mon from MH, TC, Freeport to Daytona, Melbourne and Stanford/Orlando...

I have flown Airgate twice and they are great!
The pilot even came onetime to pick me up in TCB even thought I was the only passenger.

Although it is certainly nice to see a new carrier and have alternatives, at $600 rt per person from their US locations (Melbourne, Daytona Beach, and Orlando/Sanford) to TC, Freeport or MH, they are hardly competitive price-wise. I dont see them competing with Continental or BahamasAir at this rate.

I didn't see the price on their website. Did you call them for pricing info? If it's $600 RT then is just beats Craigair. They've recently gone up about $30 RT.
We seem to end up TRYING to take what is the most convenient/reliable. Price is 2nd priority.

they don't have pricing for their scheduled flights on the website - I called to get the price which is the same for all of the Bahamas routes regardless of departure or arrival point.

We are thinking of booking AirGate for 12/15
and wondering if anyone has more info as a little
nervous esp.with smaller plane.
I spoke to Cust.Service--Michelle,who was
very informative and friendly. They have been
operating as private charters but now want
to fill in for vpj. so planes are executive
style with leather seats and very nice inside.
You can book a rt ticket and leave return
open up to 3mos; 40lbs luggage; no pet charge;
2 very experienced pilots.
Certainly wish the price of $600 pprt were
better but we live in hilton head area and
flying out of daytona, like with vpj, is
a great convenience.
So like many others we have been weighing
that out----costs over convenience---
esp. thinking of that extra drive to
west palm; rental cars; taxis to treasure;
pet charges etc.---it almost adds up to
the same.
Annyone else ready to fly with Airgate?

I have thoughly enjoyed flying with them. I live in Tampa. So when you add up the cost of my flight to FLL, then TCB, along with cost of parking they pretty close in price. Plus they allow me to carry more luggage and they never lose it.
