Hello all-
We're coming to treasure cay in february (with an infant) and, besides enjoying the area and beach, it looks like there are some great day trips to be had. anyone care to tell me there absolute must-see's ? thanks in advance. (i should add we're beach freaks, if that helps narrow it down) :)

....you like beaches. First go ahead and order the Steve Dodge "2005 Cruising Guide to the Abacos" (www.wspress.com). That will show you the nearly infinite number of beaches around the Abacos.
You will have your own two beaches (yup, 2 beaches) right there at Treasure Cay on the clear waters of the Sea of Abaco. The TC ferry ( "Prozac") does go to Guana Cay (about a 20 minute ride) and there is yet another huge beach there on the Atlantic. Find Nipper's and you'll be smack dab in the middle of it. A fun area for folks of all ages with a wide beach and a reef for snorkelling.
The really great news is that there are many, many more beaches - most of them "nekkid" - that you should just visit by way of a rental boat. (This Board's definition, BTW, of a "nekkid" beach, is one that nobody is on until you get there). There are pleeeeennnnty of them anywhere from less than 50 feet and up to several feet long. You should be able to find one that is "perfect" for you and your family that you can enjoy all safely alone for hours, if not all day. If you can get to Whale Cay or No Name Cays by rental baot from TC, there are plenty to start with there for 1/2 or full day trips.
If you can't find a good beach or two, you're not really trying. :)
Have a great time!
AW :)
