I am planning a trip for my family (6 adults, 2 small children) to Elbow Cay for either Feb or April. I am looking for information on the different parts of the island (best beaches for swimming, views, proximity to restaurants, etc..). Any information would be most helpful. Also, we are looking for a villa either on or very close to the beach. Recommendations? Thanks for your help.

I just mentioned this on another thread, so I hope folks don't get mad at me for being repetative. My family stayed at Turtle Hill Villas last year (boys 8 & 12) and love it. They have 2 and 3 bedroom villas that are 100 yards from the beach with 2 pools and their own private dock. A golf cart also come with the villa. On Da Beach bar and grill is on the grounds also. Dealing with both Amy's (owner and manager have the same name) are about as easy as it gets. I highly recommend it.... we are headed back in June '09.

My family of 4...two kids ages 13 and 8 stayed at Turtle Hill this past July and can't say enough about the place. I would highly recommend it to anyone. You've got the beach right there a nice pool and a grocery store very closeby. The Villa also comes with a golfcart and boatslip on a protected creek nearby.

I'll chime in and also recommend Turtle Hill Villas. Depending on the age of the "children" I'd recommend the 3 bedroom 3 bath unit closest to the beach. On da Beach doesn't stay open late and it's really nice to have a place to get food and drink if you want/need it. The villas have all the required stuff and there is an on-site generator for those times when the power goes out. With your crew, you'll need to rent an additional golf cart but Amy will provide that service and arrange everything if you ask her.

Thanks for the input! I have read all positive things about Turtle Hill. Looking at their website the decor in the villas looks a little "dated." I am fine with this but b/c I am planning for the family I want it to be nice...has it been updated? Another question...I have seen a lot of nice villas on Tahiti Beach. Can you drive a golf cart from Tahiti Beach into town or do you need to take a boat? Thanks again...

There really no homes ON Tahiti Beach but many within walking distance. We have rented beach front houses in that area on the ocean side and rented golf carts to go to and from Hope Town. I've stayed on both the north and south end of the island. Both are nice and require renting a golf cart or boat to get to town unless you like to do some serious walking.

We have a brand new custom built house just south of the Sea Spray on the way to Tahiti. Unfortunately it is not big enough for your party, however, there are several houses in the area that would be perfect for you within walking distance to Tahiti and very updated with all the newest amenities.
We absolutely love the South end of the island as it is a bit more secluded yet convenient to everything by golf cart.
