I will be in Elbow Cay for a week later in January and do not want to travel with cash. Is there a bank in Hope Town that I can arrange to wire money to? If so, is there a person there that would be best to contact? Thanks.

Yes, there is a bank? Its open 4 hours on Tuesday a week. And I heard sometimes you wait in lines.
I don't think you will want to spend time at the bank on your week in Hope Town. Credit cards are accepted many places however not all. Often if you use a credit card there is a minimum, but it's usually easy to meet.

There are lots of banks in Marsh Harbor, most with ATM's. On your way through MH visit one of them and withdraw enough cash to get you through the week. Most places on Elbow Cay accept major credit cards. You could always bring some traveler's checks with you.

Your best bet would be traveler's checks. We use them there all the time without any issue. While the bank is open on Tuesday's only, from 10-2, I am not sure about wiring $ without having an account there...IRS regulations, etc. We own property there, and you cannot imagine the paperwork necessary from the states in order to open a bank account. As stated earlier, you can use debit or credit cards everywhere as well. Please note, there are not any ATM machines on Elbow Cay (Or none that I have ever seen.) MArsh HArbour may be different on the ATM's but I am not sure.
