Just back from a windy week in Abaco. As I walked and boated throughout the area, inspecting hurricane damage and looking at various houses we have rented over the years, the thing that struck me most was that most of the docks at those houses were destroyed and have not been rebuilt. It is worth an inquiry of your rental agent when you book a house.

Troy at Harborview Marina seems to be on a mission of getting his Marina back up and running. The others on the West side of Marsh Harbour seem to have a long way to go. The damage is impressive. Almost couldn't get to The Jib Room there are so many boats on that side.

Apparently it's been very difficult to get building supplies from the states. Seems there were a few hurricanes over there too.

Remember there are only two major dock building companies here and they are both overwhelmed by the amount of work that needs to be done. Whoever came up with the cash money first got their dock started first. Those who waited for insurance are going to be waiting a long time.

The dock building business has been backed up for a while even before the hurricane and the hurricane just made things worse. They are also having trouble getting in lumber and supplies as the ports are backed up with hurricane repair materials as well as the usual Christmas stock.

The government dock in Guana cay was supposed to be done in August . We are still waiting. They started and it is 90 % complete but still not done
