What is the deepest draft any one has taken through Indian Cay Cut? Our Keel depth is 5 feet. Should I go around Memory Rock?

If you draw 5 feet Indian Cay is indeed touchy. you can probably make it with tide help but why chance it when memory rock is not that far away. Have been through with a 4.5 draft but it will make you sweat.
Good luck and fair winds.

Our sailing vessel draws a little less than six feet. We passed through Indian Cay Cut about an hour before high tide on June 7th 2004. Our calibrated depth gauge read a minimum of seven feet. We were on a passage from West End to Mangrove Cay. We were using Navionics electronic charts with a Magellan FX324C GPS and had no problems.

Are the marking poles still present in the passage?

We have gone through at 1/2 tide with a 5' 10" draft it was close. I prefer Memory Rock which is a no brainer.

We used Indian Cut November 30 on our way to Abaco. We were near high tide and stayed on the Dodge waypoints. Depths were 7+. The pole at waypoint IND3 is missing.

The waypoints going through Indian Cay cut were taken from 3rd edition Explorer Charts. I also carry Steve Dodges' guide and NIMA charts (DMA) along with Magellan electronic charts. It is wise to have paper charts. If your GPS goes out it is like the lights went out, even worse going through a narrow cut you are not familiar with.
