Will be in TC this April. I was wondering the average depth of the water off the beach....I am sure tides will afffect depth, but I am trying to figure out how deep the H2O is for my companion who is not a great swimmer....THANKS IN ADVANCE ...Happy New Year !!!

Well, it starts our real shallow and gradually gets deeper and deeper...

Sorry I just couldn't resist...I'm sure you will have a hard time keeping your companion out of that water. My husband does complain when I come in all wrinkly, though. That clears up pretty quickly with the administration of a little coconut rum, OJ, and pineapple juice.

I'm headed down in 3 weeks for a few treatments, yippee! !

The only time I've been there, the waves were minimal and it wasn't intimidating in the least. I'm from the eastern shore where the water is rough often. Sometimes I won't even go in here in Maryland. There, I wish there were more waves. Take a $5.00 raft with you as well. It's comforting to a non-swimmer and relaxing on the calm seas it blissful.

It's a pretty gradual slope, nice forr waders and beginning swimmers. The farther east you are (toward Marsh Harbour), the more gradual the slope of the bottom.

Gilliam Bay on Green Turtle Cay is also an excellent wading beach. Very shallow during low tide, making you believe someone pulled out the cork and let all the water out. Enjoy!

We walked what seemed to be half way to Pelican Cay at low tide! It was also a full moon, which made the tide even lower.

Arm floaties, rafts and those long floating tubes are all a great way for all swimmers to enjoy the water for longer periods of time.
