I love my my collapsible camp chair. It has an attached canopy (so I can spend all day out with my ghost white skin)and a cup holder, and it all folds up into a bag with a handle. Any ideas how the three of us can take them? I think it's too long for a carry-on...could I check it? 17 more days!!!

Not a good idea Jabby. Very, very expensive. I think bringing them in a duffle bag is a good idea if you really want to bring them.

going to be expensive with a airline check in as well both coming and going. just buy one in marsh. and leave it when trips over

Is there a charge for every checked bag? I know I'll need to look at my airline website, but I thought you were allowed 2 checked bags each, more than that you are charged.

The rules are changing regarding number of bags allowed by the day, Gail. Check with your airline.

Have agree with PatW. It would be expensive to ship. You will have shipping charges, duty, and no quarantee that it will reach Abaco when you arrive.

Gail,

Definitely do not ship your beach chair! But plan on having fun with or without a chair!

We have done that Jabby in Hawaii, bought them in WalMart there and left with the resort or owner of rental. This past time even rented one. Could have bought one but we opted for the rental.

Where is Standard Hardware? Do you know if they have a canopy top?

It's on the right after you pass the traffic light going towards the ferries.
BUT, if your math and mine are correct 17 days puts you landing on a Sat. and unless you have an early arrival into Marsh Harbour you won't find them open...they close at either 12 or 1 PM.

Gail from MA, I don't think for $14 it will have a canopy top....I just price one the other here and it was $29.99 and it has to be more there. I would think it is a sand chair that kind that sits in the sand or the smaller one that sits up a bit on the sand. Better than nothing. But I know they do have them in MH. I would check with your airline, it would be like bringing golf clubs down except lighter weight, so they might allow it to be checked in. In the past we checked in strollers so I don't see the difference.....check it out!

Think the day will come when someone in Marsh Harbour will recognize the great need for rentals of things like that? We checked for crib, stroller and high chair rentals in Marsh last trip over with our grandkids but had to tote ours over. As airlines change rules on check-ins and charge extra I would think someone could make money renting a lot of things the visitors don't want to schlep along on their trips. I noticed more house rentals providing beach towels. That sure frees up space in the suitcase for returning with souvenirs.

Well, really...a beach chair is much more comfortable than a towel...if you're over 40 and you plan on spending a long time at the beach...to me it's an important piece of equipment!http://coconuttelegraph.net/forums/images/icons/icon12.gif The best thing for me is to check with my airline; us air and bahamair, and pack them like golf clubs I think. I love the beach but have this freckly white skin that burns, burns, burns...that's why I like the canopy. My 24 year old has skin like me, but my 11 year old looks like his portuguese father, and he tans, tans, tans! Thanks for all your ideas, I'll let you know how it turns out.

Beach chairs are a must!!!!! One thing nice about beaches at TC most of them have lounges. (besides the most incredible beach I have ever seen!).
