Hi all,

My wife and I are planning our first trip to Abaco to do some diving and would like to ask for some help figuring out something. We are going to be staying on Elbow Cay and flying into Marsh Harbour. Our flight arrives to Marsh Harbour at 5:30pm on a Monday. Looking at the ferry schedule it seems the last one is at 6pm. It seems that we will miss the last one. Is there another option to get us over to Elbow Cay? Water taxi or something like that?

Thank you in advance for your time! :D

Joe

If you are renting a boat out of Marsh, check and see what time they close. You can also charter a ferry to Elbow. There may be someone else needing to get over that can split the cost. Alburys will charter without a problem. You could always check with whereever you are staying and see if they know of someone who would pick you up. Have fun.

We won't be renting a boat as we are meeting friends with one but they may not be in when we get in. We're staying at the Hopetown Hideaway Villas and are not quite sure where they are located so even if we did rent one we'd have no idea where to go....

Thanks for the reply Margaret, I'll e-mail Alburys and inquire.

We were in your same boat a year ago. As soon as we cleared customs we had the taxi driver hail Alburys to see if they would hold the ferry to Hope Town for us... which they did. Make sure you get a customs card on your flight over and have it filled out and ready to go when you get off the plane. We didn't and it took a little extra time. Of course if your flight over is late then you'll have to charter most likely. Good luck.

Will do, thanks for the tip Coz. I would have never thought about the paperwork required to clear customs and getting that filled out before arriving.

I did check with Albury's and a real nice fellow named Denis got back to me today and was able to set up a charter for us leaving at 6:30. So hopefully the flights are on time but from what I read about Gulfstream/Continental a few threads back that may be wishful thinking.

Thanks again :)
