How does one get from Tampa to the Abacos?

You can take Continental (Gulfstream) from Tampa to Ft Lauderdale or W. Palm Beach and on to Marsh Harbour or Treasure Cay.

I fly from Tampa to MH all the time, Continetial does do a all in one flight, stop over in West Palm, but it gets pricey and their service has been a bit wishy-washy the last few times, I hear.

I always fly Southwest from Tampa to WPB then catch Bahamasair to MH, its a lot cheaper and easier, SW usually runs about 50$ if you book at a good time. SW also goes into Ft Lauderdale, but I am not really a fan of that airport.

We live in Tampa and make the 2 hour drive to Melbourne and go non-stop from there to avoid having to clear customs in Fort Lauderdale.

Vintage Props is out of MLB. Easy drive from Tampa, $8/day to park. About the size of St.Pete/Clw airport. Last few time I rented a car at TIA for $35 and didn't even pay to park or worry about car prep.

We just returned from a week in the Abacos -- flew roundtrip on Continental from Tampa -- flights were on time and very effcient. The return trip was 20 minutes early into Tampa and our bags were at the carousel before we got there. We took the flights through West Palm Beach -- much better than FLL. The price was very reasonable. We flew Wed to Wed. We have driven to FLL and taken other airlines to MHH -- not too practical now with the price of fuel and parking. We always liked Vintage and Yellow Air Taxi -- still do. New baggage regs with Continental will limit each passenger to 1 bag each under 50 pounds.
