I am getting married in April 2009. I would love some pictures of what Abaco looks like during April. I am getting married at the Hopetown Harbour Lodge and I am staying at the Turtle Hill Villas. I would love love love to see pictures!!!!

I am also looking for around 120 postcards from Abaco and the Bahamas. I have tried looking online but I am not having any luck. Would anyone be willing to pick some up for me.

Thanks

Jess

I will take you up on those tickets! Who knows how much plane tickets will be in another year!

I have never been to the Abacos before but everyone on this board showed me that it was the place for my destination wedding. That is why I want to see some pictures of where I am staying and getting married. I have only really seen pictures fromt he websites.

Thanks everyone for your help!!!

Here's a link to some general photos around Hopetown. There are a couple taken at the Lodge (read the captions at the bottom for locations) and the last two are from On Da Beach, which is the beach bar at Turtle Hill. These were taken in May and not significantly different than April. Plenty of beautiful foliage in bloom both months. You will love the place!

I've got a few of the exterior and interior of Turtle Hill Villas but not as many as I should. PM me if you need any more information - it's our favorite place to stay in Abaco.

I've tried to attach several pictures of Turtle Hill Villas from our 2005 trip. If the pics don't show up, I'll try again.

If you go to Google Maps and input these coordinates (26.526393, -76.963938) and use satillite view, you will get a good view of the Turtle Hill Villas layout. I'm not sure when this view was taken so the area has changed somewhat. From the ocean, the first structure on the dune is On 'daBeach Bar and Grill, then the two three bedroom villas, the 4 - 2 bedroom villas surround the pool on the other side of the dirt road. The office is right next to the dirt road on the side opposite the 3 bedroom units. If you expand the view, you'll see where Turtle hill is in relation to other parts of the island (Hope Town is partially obscured by clouds).

Steamboat-
That is awsome thank you! Can you try to describe where the Hopetown Harbour Lodge is on the Map? How about the Abaco Inn? I have guests staying at both of those too!

Steamboat- What are some of the building directly behind Turtle Hill Villas? I heard that there was a grocery store nearby?

Also what is the group of building South of Turtle hill? There are like six round buildings along the beach.

Thanks

Coordinates for each destination are listed below.

Hope Town Lodge at 26.535541, -76.958075

Abaco Inn at 26.513308, -76.971674

Not sure what the several round roof tops south of Turtle Hill represent but the ocean side pool suggest a residence or a small resort. Hopefully anothe board member can fill us both in. The small group of buildings just inland (west) of Turtle hill Villas contains the store and a I think the owners house and storage building. The store is well stocked but only accepts cash.

We found Turtle Hill by accident in 2004(3???) when trying to find a location for a 2 family reunion (40 people in all). We rented the whole complex for a week, decided it met all our requirements for a vacation spot and either my brother and his family and friends or my wife and I and my brothers family have been back every year at least once (sometimes twice in one year for my brother). I always recommend it as a place for people to consider when staying on Elbow since it's our favorite place.

Congrats on your upcoming wedding! My husband and I were married on March 17, 2008 outside Hope Town Harbour Lodge. It was beautiful and the weather was warm; however it was very windy! Let me know if you need any info on cake, flowers, etc. Good luck, here are some pics!

We will be in Hopetown next Wednesday (April 23) and will be staying at the Hopetown Harbour Lodge. We were last there in April of 2006 and have great pics of the pool area and beach. If you have not had offers regarding the postcards or pictures, IM me and I'll try to get you what you would like.
