Is the laudromat at Marsh Harbor operating?

I talked to some cruisers on sail boats yesterday who had heard that only one washing machine was available in the Abacos(on Guana) and therfore were thinking of bypassing the Abacos this year. Is this true, and if the machines at Hopetown and Marsh Harbor were knocked out is there a projection of when they will be back online?

In Marsh Harbour laundry facilities are available at at least four sources. The Marsh Harbour Marina and Yacht Club, Freedom Wash, Miss Viola's pick up and delivery, Boat Harbour and more coming online daily. (Although several of these were working just after BOTH storms!) (personal knowledge--used 'em myself)
In Guana, they have always had only one laundry facility--and it's working fine (ice cream store out front)

I'm sure you will have no trouble getting clean here--certainly it's no reason to bypass us! Congrats on having the sense to ask before you did so. Abaco is nothing if not accomodating to guests...

hi, we are planning to be in Hopetown over Christmas, 2009 and were hoping there would be a public laundry we could use instead of having to bring two weeks worth of clothes. Is one currently available and is it availale to the general public? If not, is there someone who provides a laundry service? and what might be the price range if you know......thanks, much! L
