Hi board...
I have seen trip reports and posts from some of you that stay on Lubbers. I am looking for a new place to try on the south end of Abaco for summertime. I know Lubber's is pretty centrally located to Little Harbour, Tahiti Beach and Tilloo Bank which are wonderful day trips. However I have never stayed on Lubber's and was wondering how the experience is being on a more secluded island. I am used to Green Turtle and Eastern Shores, Marsh Harbour but am looking to be a little more "away from it all". Has anyone stayed at Lubber's Landing? It looks great... just looking for feedback if anyone has it on those accomodations or Lubber's in general. Thanks in advance.

If your looking for something a little more "away from it all" Lubbers would be an excellent choice and a nice compromise between Elbow or Tilloo, seclusion without isolation. Very quite but a wonderful place to unwind and a convenient home base for day trips to most of the feature destinations. A great choice for boaters and the more independent vacationer. Even if the weather gets snotty, you can still jump over to Elbow for food and provisions. Although we finally settled to GTC, we still have fond memories of our years spent down there. Good luck. We stayed at Summerview on Lubbers for our first trip in November.
Great place and Patti and Eddie are super. Lubbers is in a great location for quick trips to White Sound on Elbow and Hopetown during the day. We enjoyed the privacy and natural island flora, fauna :) and private beach. You can see the blink of the lighthouse from the upper deck....very cool!

In years past we stayed at the Pineapple cottage on the south end of Lubbers - you won't be disappointed. Owners Mark and Patti are on island and are great hosts. You can even take a day sail tour with Mark on one of his sailboats.

Thanks to all who responded about Lubbers. When you get into a niche and know that you won't be disappointed by going where it's always been good it's hard to switch. However I feel like changing it up a bit. I am looking forward to Cracker P's fish dip! It just means I'll have to do more than one trip to Abaco this year!

We've stayed on Lubbers twice now and booked for a third trip this June. There are several very nice houses including those already mentioned.
On the southeast beach there is also Pink Palm, Hardaground, Green Bananas, Beach Lubbers, and Sea Level Cottages. We've stayed at Sea Level and are going back again. I've looked into the others and they all look good too. One of the reasons we have chosen Sea Level is the boat. Each of their cottages come with a boat. I think their new complex, Lubbers Landing, is the same way.
I also would recommend a day sail with Mark. We did one several years back and thoroughly enjoyed it.

We've stayed on Lubbers for our trip a couple of years ago, and also at Sea Level, which has a few cottages, we stayed in the Dolphin House and truly loved it! Yes, having the boat included was a huge plus, and having to boat everywhere was another added plus. Amy and Austin of Sea Level were great and we enjoyed chatting with them. I think if we went back we would not only go back to Lubbers but to Sea Level.
Enjoy!

We stay on Lubbers every year. Had friends stay at Summerview and they loved it. We always stay at Green Bananas. Lubbers is wonderfully secluded but also close to everything at the same time. I belive Lubbers Landing is owned by the people who owned Sea Level- and it was a great set up. Beautifully kept. We have considered Lubbers Landing for upcoming trips. Have a wonderful trip.

I'm not trying to cause trouble, just very curious. The last but one post reminded me that an entire thread seemed to be zapped out of existence before my eyes a few weeks ago. It concerned a negative experience the poster had with a local charter company and seemed, at least to me, to be noncommercial and useful to readers. What am I mssing? Was he just being a "grouch":)?

However, negative posts on the internet last forever. Grouches feel the need to vent, but this is not the site for venting.
