We're beginning to plan a Spring run over to Abaco in our sailboat and would like to make reservations at a marina. We're looking at a place that will have WiFi access and is a clean, family spot. We'll be there at least a month, so we'll be looking for someplace that will give us access to shopping and laundry and the regular amenities. The Marsh Harbor area is our first thought, but we're open to anything.

WiFi is critical, as I work aboard.

Any suggestions?

Marsh Harbor Marina sounds like it might fit. It doesn't have a lot of transient boats moving in and out. Most of the boaters there are retired couples who keep their boats their for the season and have been doing so for years. Their bar is only open until 7:00 p.m. except for Wed and Sat which are their babyback ribs night and steak nights. Their restaurant is open for lunch Wed-Sat.They have a pool and laundry facilities. They are on the other side of the harbor from shopping but it's a short dinghy ride. Call way ahead for reservations because as I said a lot of their space is reserved for return visitors. Hope Town seems to be a favorite of families with younger children because it is smaller and it's easier to make acquaintances.

Try sea spray in white sound on elbow key. Great docking, fuel facilities, staff and there is a pool for the kids. We stayed in seascape (nearby) last year for spring break and our 12 year old and her friend hungout at the pool listening to jimmy buffett and eating cheeseburgers...........needless to say, were going back this year

we always use Marsh Harbor Marina, you can't ask for nicer people or better staff. I don't know about WIFI now, but last summer we had very good signal there!!! Gotta love doing laundry while sitting in the pool, it is maybe 10 feet away from each other! While the bar is maybe another 10 feet away:)

We have always used M.O.W. Marina as our base of operations. There's plenty for the kids to do(ice cream shop, baseball/basketball nearby and always something going on, and a pool) and good folks at the staying at the marina. Tommy and Chris couldn't be more accomodating. No bars or nightlife, no one bothers you at sundowner time, and no obnoxious people to deal with. We just really enjoy M.O.W.

Gator,

Check out the "Wireless on Abaco" thread. It might help you to make your marina decision.

I have been keeping my boat at Seaspray Resort, for the winter season, over the past 3 years.WIFI,is available and unlike Marsh Harbour,it is extremely quiet. At night the sound of the surf is the only sound to be heard and you will be awakened,by the roosters in the morn. There is no need to lock your boat,or worry about any of your equipment. The only small incident,I can ever remember, was immediately solved,by Junior Menard"the marina manager"nothing goes on in Hopetown, that he doesn't know about.A truly great place to be .
