Allyson Maynard is the same government official that cancelled the final meeting in which we were to discuss the project. Without an explanation or even calling to say she would not be here.

Sure would like to find that "majority". Most likely a majority of the Cabinet in Nassau vs. a majority of the residents of Guana.
Not being a Bahamian it's hard for me to say how things work , but it sure looks like a done deal from government/executive branch standpoint which usually means only way to stop is thru the courts. Not sure any court in Nassau is going to care very much what happens up in a remote island of Abaco, but certainly worth talking to an established lawyer in Nassau about it.
I would think the other reef organiziations that SGCR is getting involved would know one or two lawyers in Nassau who would look into it.

I just noticed a fatal error inthe article. they have " guana " spelled correctly inthe first half of the article but all other spellings are "GAUNA " including the website address which is critical
Yes, a typo! However, the word is out. The website is www.saveguanacayreef.com. Check daily for new updates as this is a group in action. Yes. BellaVisa is correct. I believe the group has hired an attorney and is doing what they can. Aulbury said he was going to do a fund raiser .... I'll keep you posted on that. Silbert Mills from Radio Abaco has invited the group in to discuss it on the air. The article is good, however, I have only had 1 person say they don't care about the reef. There is a pitition with more than 450 signitures Bahamians, visitors and second homeowners. We MUST do something Now otherwise it will be gone. This is more than a Bahamian problem. that reef belongs to the people of the world. Write the PM, Write the Ministry of tourism! :)

I have visited Abaco a few times....to fish ...snorkel and vacation in general.
I thought the US politicians were bad...WOW !!! Tourists spend a lot of $$ fishing, diving and so on...Dead water due to golf courses and development will
really turn off a lot of people...hence....nothing is gained....not for the exclusive resort property owners or anyone else.....have you considered involving
"Green Peace" ? I have e-mail all the address in the link....and expressed outrage as viewed by your average tourist...good luck...dont give up the fight..
its worth the fight !!!!
