The last few times boats were stolen from the treasure cay area, we found them in Freeport. You may want to look/fly over there, this is what we did.
Good luck.

Island Daze: I have made your plea the past two days on the local Cruisers Net, so everyone here in Abaco is aware of the theft and looking for your boat--could you please keep us informed? I've already been asked about status, and should we still be on the lookout...
Thanks,
Pattie

Thanks for putting out the info on the cruisers net hopefully someone will remember seeing it or have any info that will help.As of dec 15th the boat is still missing and hopefully someone coming over from the states might spot the boat in the Grand Bahama area if that as it sounds like that is where they are usually taken when stolen. Thanks for all of your help and look forward to the weather and info on the net when i get there after Christmas.
Happy Holidays

Thanks Mark am trying to get a picture posted as soon as possible the boat is not actually mine i'm doing this for a friend who doesn't have as much access to the message board as i do, but i have fished many times on Fish Quest and as a second homeowner also its really sad that these things are happening in the Abacos.Petty theft is a whole different ballgame compared to having someone steal a boat.It hasn't changed my mind on why i love the Abacos or the people but i think it's time the goverment or police shut down these boat chop shops as it is not only the second homeowners but locals that have this happening to them and is probably only just a few thugs doing it.Any help is appreciated and thanks to all who have viewed this post and are on the lookout.
Good day,
I don't think the boat made it to a "chop shop".
Boats like this are the boat of choice for bringing drugs, and illegal aliens into the US.
The once popular "go fast" boats attract too much attention.
Some of the boats that have gone missing in Abaco turn up in South Florida, and many in the Grand Bahama area as well.
They can probably fit at least twenty people on a boat like that.
Regards,
R.

I agree R what i meant by a chop shop is that it seems like if you have a yamaha motor(s) on your boat you are a much bigger target and it is these boats that are being targeted.from my experience it is very hard to find used parts for a yahama motor because of their reliability so selling them in parts is very profitable. Also when you do have a larger boat you so become succeptible to the one shot drug or illegal allien trade, it just seems that something could be done about this as it looks like it is an ongoing problem and at least in my mind isn't a large number of people doing it but rather a smaller group or or groups of individuals.Anyway thanks all and hope this is something that the police will start to pay attention to as they do all of the other crimes, which thankfully are few.
Thanks

The last stolen boat I heard about was an Intrepid taken in Lucaya and found in Eluthera. The epirb went off around Hole In the Wall. Good luck.
