I heard that the Junkanoo would be the day after (Monday) because New Year's fell on Sunday.

January 1, 2005 is a Saturday. New Year's Eve is Friday night. If you wait til Saturday, you may be the only one there! ;)

Lots of confusion with dates of celebration due to Government declaring official holiday for New Year's Day on Monday 3 January, but as long as New Year's Day doesn't fall on a Sunday we will celebrate Junkanoo on Green Turtle on
1st January !! So see us all for a beautiful Junkanoo parade coming down off the hill as usual Saturday afternoon, 1 January 2005. Come early and enjoy the food booths throughout town for conch fritters, conch salad and so much more!

The Green Turtle Junkanoo committe plans to rest on the 3rd!!!!!!
