Thanks for the picture. When were you there ? Hope your Sooners beat A&M today and go all the way, unless of course they play our Jayhawks.

Great picture, Serenity - that Jayhawk Nest signage sure calls the Team Spirit out! Time to get ready for a Saturday afternoon of NCAA football - it is an interesting season!
Oops - almost forgot: Go Gators!

We were there the end of May through early June! We go every year. We always chuckle and have to holler GO SOONERS when we pass your sign! Its a classic and now tradition. Maybe someday you folks will be there when you hear the hollering...won't be drunks though, just some hard core Sooner fans!

Good luck to the Sooners today and lets see what Sam Bradford has in store for us today!

Although not a huge fan of KU...I am a Kansan, and must appreciate the sign. I myself would love to see a WildCat eating your Jayhawk. However K-state has been letting me down the last couple years, and I am looking at that KU wagon and thinking about jumping on. Just so you know I do love KU basketball....but Football is the flavour of the week. So from one Kansan to a KU fan....Go Hawks, Rock Chalk. Now my Real team is the 2007 NAIA Div II National Champions MidAmerica Nazarene University, ranked #1 in the nation. Go Pioneers!!!!!

Hey Wonkee, How are things in KC ? We will be there over Thanksgiving to visit family so hope it is warm, can't take the cold anymore.

KU football fans are having a great time but the team has been so bad for so long (with only a few exceptions) that it is hard not to be a skeptic. I was in Lawrence for 7 years and don't think I could ever sit thru a whole game. Football was always (and still is for me) a diversion until BB started.

We moved from KC a long time ago, went to New England and now Fla/Guana. We find ourselves cheering for several teams we used to hate, K-State, MU, OKla, Boston College, North Carolina (I still like Roy) and of course the Gators. It gets very confusing some weeks. Hope your Pioneers win it all.

We have a similar tradition now too, our 10 year old son always yells "Go Buckeyes!" when we pass Lil' Gecko with their Gator flag proudly flying! Whether they are there or not, anyone in ear's shot will hear him. Even his 3 year old sister now knows the house and will chant with him!!

And we cherish that sound of "Go Buckeyes!" Love seeing youngsters enjoying their teams - And Anfrew sure can talk sports with the best - he knows his "stuff!"

And as far as this Bball season and our Gators - it will be fun watching the freshman develop without that cloud of expectation hanging over - plus we will have Jim's Tarheels to fill that slot this year! Bring it on!

My only concern is why I'm at work this morning and not on Guana Cay.

I wish it would warm up myself, I am nursing this broke Knee/Leg and the cold is killer. I was a skeptic, until they started beating teams like Texas, and K-state, and Colorado, wait they have beat everyone they have played.....and several were ranked apponents. The MU KU border war should be a great game, Ill be rooting for the Hawks, its about time they get some recognition for something besides great basketball teams.

Good luck to the Jayhawks. I know the cowboys are worried and I hope the Jayhawks win because I am not a cowboy fan!

Sunkissed: glad we are not alone in silly traditions.

and in closing, how about that Adrian Peterson this weekend! Sooner boy gone BIG! It will be interesting to watch him this season and hopefully he will stay healthy.

Rock Chalk Jayhawk! I grew up in Lawrence, KS, and this is a great year to be a KU fan. The only team to be ranked in the top 5, or top 10 for that matter, in both basketball and football.

By the way...I love that sign!
