I'm staying at the Abaco Inn for at least 2weeks+....My research indicates I should score some good surf if I'm lucky....Any insights?

You are right in between the best spots on Elbow. Garbanzos down by Seaspray and Reef to the north. Two weeks is enough for a couple of fronts to push through. We were there last year and it was good every day, but some days were better than others. We came again in February and it was also good.

That is definitely the spot. Seen some great surf there. Watch the bottom. Rocky. Also up on Guana. Locals will fill you in.

thanks for the heads up. I'm also going to rent a boat. It looks like if your dialed in, you can find some hidden treasures.....It also seems a bit under the radar, and off the beaten path. I left ventura to come back to surf the cold tubes of jersey to get away from the maddening crowds.....

From New Years day until Spring Break, you are definitely under the radar. There are always someone there, but the crowd level is way down and quite enjoyable. There is a strong local surfing contingent so there is always someone with a better spot or idea.

While on Elbow check with the gentleman at the new coffee shop in town. He's local and surfs quite a bit, may be able to help.

Pics from earlier this year... April time frame.
A good easterly wind will really kick up the surf.
Enjoy

Looks really fun, but not quite round enough to pull in....Is that the spot in front of the inn, did that wave run keep on going for a while?

Just down the road from The Abaco Inn about a half mile is SeaSpray. Ask anyone there where Garbonzo is. Just over the dune.
The surfs not bad but certainly not like the stuff on the west coast.
Shorter runs because of reefs.
