Technoloygy....I love it. We just got home from a week and a half in Abaco. Home is Sacramento, CA. It was a long and somewhat frustrating trip to get home that has left us pretty tired. But before hitting the sack I just had to log on and listen to today's cruisers net on the computer. It's not every day you get to listen to yourself thousands of miles away in paradise on the VHF! I recorded our departure note from today's net and you can hear it when I post my video trip report in a week or so. I'll file it to you tube and post the link here on oii.
In a nut shell this was our 7th year in Abaco and our first with a child. We brought our two year old daughter Sophia. In many ways it was like our first trip to paradise all over again. We rediscovered the simple joys of justting on the beach and letting the sand sift through our fingers and toes stacking sand castles only to watch the waves wipe them out. We saved a lot of gas in the rentle boat this year just staying put and enjoying each other. But, we still managed to hit Nippers, Pete's, Crackers, Grabbers, Harbours Edge, Sea Spray, Abaco Inn....and a lot of Kalik and homemade Goombay's. It's time to turn-in and dream of the Abacos. We were there just hours ago and yet it already feels like months.
Cheers,
