Yeah, I know, a lot of you get out in the sun a lot and even though I'm in Arizona it stayed cool until recently here in northern Arizona. So, any recommendations on sunless tan lotion for my light legs? Leaving for Abaco in under 2 weeks and not enough time to get any color from the sun now that it has warmed up here (and no more 40 - 50 mph winds). Just making my legs off-white would be nice, but not orange. Thanks.

I do sunless tanning booth, but not before a vacation. Salt water is hard on sunless tanners and too expensive to mess up w/ the water.
I use some of the daily moisturizers and they work well. Build up slowly, but give some nice color--just not the same as a "real" tan (lighter). Sublime glow mist is pretty good--but haven't had much luck w/ the towelettes.
I will still be searching for a better product!
Check out sunless.com--good tips and reviews!

White legs don't look all that out of place in the Abacos. They just say "tourist from the north." ;) Get some good sunscreen and after the first day on the beach your legs and body will darken up nicely. If you're a babe everybody will just say "wow" and they won't likely notice the state of your tan. If you aren't presentable in a tiny bikini everybody will just say "Oh well, nobody's perfect and at least she looks like she's having a good time."

Thanks for the info and the "go white" pep talk. Usually, I just like a little tan when I first arrive and then I'm okay with the sun to darken me up a bit. Or at least change me to off-white. I'm definitely not a tiny bikini person, since I'm 59. But I'm 5' 2" and weigh 108 lbs. Guess that makes me the, "oh well, nobody's perfect". My daughter has been hitting the tanning booth so it makes me look paler next to her. I should have travelled with my red-headed sister. I always look darker than her! :)

Cathy, I totally understand! My legs are whiter than white so I always use something on them to get me through the first couple of days. I agree with Cindim above. The daily moisturisers with tan are good and look natural. Just don't put too much on your feet! (and wash your hands afterwards) Choose a medium to dark, if there is a choice, as the light to medium ones don't do anything. Have a great trip.

Remember to take time to prep your skin! I use a cotton washcloth and really scrub my feet, elbows and knees. If using a sunless tanner, I lightly moisturize these areas to keep them from getting too dark. Hubby/friend can help do your back! Looks a bit funny when you have a tan all over except your back! Spray sunless tanners can help with this too!
I remember going on a Windjammer cruise (years and years ago before self tanner was as good as now). A woman did the sunless tanning stuff and it showed! Almost worse than no tan. Boy, did it wear off poorly and she did a terrible job on her feet and ankles!

Don't worry--most of us that live here do our very best to stay OUT of the sun!
You will look like a local, at least till you start getting dark!
We tend to get some color like it or not, so we CAN tell folks from the frozen north, but as usual, I'm sure you will feel right at home...

5'2" and 108 pounds! I'd say that puts you into the babe category. Perfect size and perfect age too.

Trust me, Capt.Neal, I'm not in the babe category.(Although, thankfully, my husband thinks so.) After 37 years of marriage he knows the right thing to say. But, thanks for the compliment.
Tolerance, I'm from Arizona so most people assume we would be tan but we stay out of the sun especially in the hot summers and being from northern Arizona, our winters are cold. Thanks Sarge & Cindim for the great advise. I'll give it a go.

Girl, that's the reason I chose the Abacos. From just being on this board and talking to people that have been, no one there judges you on how you look. I think for the most part all there just want to relax and play. There is far more judgement here in the states. Those white leggs will be tan before you know it. Just remember the sunscreen so you will not be miserable during the rest of the trip. Enjoy yourself.
