Does anyone know if there are any restrictions to having alcohol on the beach? I know in the states on some beaches it has to be in a cup. I just want to make sure we know all the rules before our arrival

Thanks

I have never known any. Only at the Coco Beach Bar they ask you NOT to bring anything on as they sell their own food/alcohol. Anywhere else we have brought a drink on the beach in a plastic glass with a lid. Never ever causing any trash of course as we all want the beaches to remain beautiful. I would also never bring any glass bottles. I think if it is done in a respectable way, there should not be any problem. It is nice to bring a sandwich and a drink to a secluded beach but again if it is Coco Beach Bar, we purchase there.

No restrictions. As stated by Momshell, be considerate and leave the beach cleaner then when you got there. Also realize there are families there with children, especially as the weather gets warmer, so behave appropriately.

Coozies around the beer cans or bottles, etc. Respect Abaco as if you were in your own backyard or neighborhood outing.

Most of the bars sell coozies for bottles. Great souviner.

A coozie is the little neoprene holder, usually with a zipper.

Except for Marsh Harbour, I don't think there are any restrictions on where you can take carry around an adult beverage.

Thanks Elcahun for the info. I thought those were to keep the beer cool but it would keep things safe too. I have rarely seen any garbage on the beaches and I have seen some guys bring small coolers with beer. My desire it an exotic drink with calypso/reagae music but don't hear that music on the islands. Adds atmosphere to the tropical look!
