We will be in Abaco in 22 days. We are getting married in Treasure Cay and it's an outdoor wedding. Is there typically that afternoon shower that you experience in the tropics? Lets just pray it doesn't rain, we don't have back up plans!

In our experience, there is very little rain in April. We've had two-week vacations when the only rain was a 15-minute shower late at night. Prepare for windy conditions, though it looks like it is calming some now.

Is April Rainy?.................................. We only wish!!!!
Seriously...April is USUALLY dry...maybe by the end of May the rain will start! If we're lucky!
Good luck on your wedding!

My daughter got married in Hope Town. With all the plans, preparations, work, expense, stress and all that leads into a wedding I strongly advise you to have a back-up plan. You probably won't need it but it takes the stress off just in case. The day of her wedding it clouded up, began to sprinkle about the time the photographer arrived, and got a tad windy. We had a back up plan so no one stressed. Just as we were about to use the church instead of the beach the clouds moved off shore and we all moved back outside. No stress. No problem.

Hi TammyD, I was there last year twice in April, first part and end of April and the weather was beautiful.I went to a wedding in Treasure and the reception was in the backyard and it was great. Lovely place to have a wedding. Best wishes and post pictures please.

Cathy Arizona, did your daughter get married in April or another month?

My daughter got married on June 1st. But I'm one big on back up plans because I didn't want any stress on wedding day. The electricity was out while we were getting our hair done which meant we had to rethink our hair plans. No problem. Because of the power outage some of our guests weren't able to shower. Thank heavens for the hot tub on the porch and the ocean nearby. It made for some funny photos, which the photographer took while waiting for my daughter to finish her hair. By wedding day I was so relaxed that nothing could faze me. My daughter was a bit rattled but with everything else having a second "just in case" plan we didn't have to run around like crazy ladies and be concerned. By the way, this was my third daughter's wedding and if I learned nothing more from the first 2 daughter's weddings it was to have alternate plans and always carry safety pins, a small sewing kit, and a good sense of humor. That "perfect" day is never perfect but keep in mind that all that really matters is that at the end of the day you will be married. And isn't that why you are there anyway? Oh, one thing we wished we had done was to have a group photo of EVERY ONE at the wedding. We all had a great time. So will you.

June is the start of Abaco"s rainy season. April should be safe for you.

TammyD, I'm sure you will have a fine wedding day! The usual rough April front is coming this weekend. That means clear skies for your wedding day! Afternoon showers will not come until June. Wishing you a wonderful life together!

You'll be fine. Here are some shots taken two weeks ago. Bahama Beach Club in the distance in the first one. Beautiful setting for a Beautiful Dayhttp://coconuttelegraph.net/forums/images/icons/icon14.gif
