Does anyone know if the Laundry Mat behind the liquor store in Hopetown is still in operation?
Thanks.

It was 2 weeks ago when we used it. Unfortunately, the septic system was still overflowing and running down to the liquor store, as it was a year ago.

There also seems to be a shortage of tokens for the machines. Those you can buy from the manager of Da Fina Tings (love the name).

It is actually the soakaway (french drain) and not the septic that overflows and the token situation has been cleared up. Plenty for everyone.

I might be wrong, but I think that many of the laundromats in the Abacos use the same tokens. So what happens is that people take tokens they have left over from one mat to another and the owners of the original mat lose their tokens. It's even been rumored that some people buy tokens "cheaper" at one place and then "sail away" and use said tokens at a more expensive place. So maybe if you buy tokens at one place, you should cash them in before you leave because.....if you buy a token in MH and use it in Guana the laundromat owner in Guana is not making any money and the laundromat owner in MH has no expense except for the token. And then the MH laundromat runs out of tokens, This advice is directed more toward the boating community that moves from island to island. I am a part of the boating community, even worse I'm a blow boater, and while saving all of your dirty laundry until you get to a cheaper laundromat may seem ridiculous to a dirt dweller, consider that a1$ difference in token price + 4 or 5 loads of laundry = 1 Kalik. But please use the tokens where you buy them.

I dont know if this helps or is still a viable option, but in '05 I found out while staying at the Lodge, one of the school moms will pick up any laundry you have and return it by end of school day. We used her a couple times.

Cant say for sure if this still is the case.
