Diver Down

Hi all,
We're planning a trip into MOW or GTC. What is the damage from the hurricanes to dive sites and general foliage on MOW and GTC. Thanks.

My son and I were in Man O' War for a few days in Mid-October. Some foliage was barren, many palms and bushes uprooted in exposed areas. Mangroves seemed to survive the best. Most effect would be on the exposed beachfront.
We went snorkeling off Elbow Cay beach and it was still beautiful. I think you will find most diving sites to be just like you remember. You may want to contact some of the dive operators by e-mail to check on what they have seen.
Even after two hurricanes, we still think it is the most beautiful place in the world. Have a great trip!

The reefs at Fowl Cay and at the north end of Guana sustained no damage from the storms. Visibility was really down for about three weeks after the storm but since then it has reurned to its norm of 60 to 80 feet of visibility.
I spoke to lambert at Froggie's in Hope Town and he said Sandy Cay was beautiful as well and he could not notice any difference at Sandy Cay.
The water is getting pretty cool this year. Already 75 degrees at Fowl Cay today so it could be a chilly winter. I am already using my full 3mm ( but I am a wimp when it comes to cold water:)

We had friends just come back from dive trips with Dive Guana and they were thrilled with their dive experiences. Glad you guys are up and running. But you are serious wimps if you are wearing anything but your own skin in that bathwater! Love and Hugs to You Guys!
