I was hoping to book a couple of snorkel tours with Froggies in late April. Do we need to book ahead of time or just wait till we get to Elbow Cay? I tried sending them an e-mail a couple of weeks ago but got no reply.
Also, does anyone know of a place where we could rent a couple of kayaks?
Thanks.

Froggies tours are weather dependent so you can book as they come up unless you want to charter the entire boat. There are kyak rentals at Dive Guana and I'm sure some other places but can't immediately remember the names.

We've always gone by Froggies when we arrive and read the schedule board and then booked.

I would suggest callng and booking in advance, as this is a busy time of the year for the dive shops. We, at Treasure Divers, have half the month of Marsh and April booked. You can find their phone number by visiting the Bahamas Diving Association web site at www.bahamasdiving.com

P.S. As of Christmas, we also rent Kayaks!

We go out with Froggies when we are on Elbow and they are great. They have differing day trips to the north and south throughout the week. They also have a Nipper's run to Guana on Sundays for the pig roast. You can check the chalk board outside the shop when you get to Hopetown and it should tell you what they have planned for the week. I think you might be able to rent some kayaks at either the Abaco Inn or Sea Spray both of which are in White Sound about a 10 minute golf cart ride south, you can inquire via email with them. We will be on Elbow in late April also and will probably see you on the boat as we will do some scuba diving with Froggies and hope to make the Nippers run on Sunday.

Although Froggies always has some great snorkel/dive trips planned, one of the best trips, IMHO, is their all-day trip to Little Harbour. On this trip you can dive and snorkel at Sandy Cay, look for sand dollars on Tilloo Bank, and have lunch at Pete's Pub. You can also visit the foundry and gift shop next to Pete's. Call Theresa when you get to Elbow to find out their schedule. You won't be disappointed!

Has anyone heard of Abaco Kayak?

I second Alan on the all-day to Little Harbour. Especially if you can go on a day they're "pouring" at the foundry.
