People ask what should I bring.

I always say, the first thing I pack is flash light.

Another recent post Polarized sunglasses were mentioned. I concur but I'd like to add to that.

How many of us use glasses to read? (I do). So, maybe 7 - 8 years ago, I had my optician make a pair of bifocal polarized glasses. The top had no magnification at all - and the bottom was a 2.00 reader for reading charts while underway or reading a book while laying on the beach. I've had 5 pairs since the.

What I dont understand is; many opticians will not make them for you unless you have a percsription and if they do they wont be cheap. Yet you can buy readers and Polarized sunglasses at any pharmacy.

Maybe there are some out there for over the counter sale????
Why not the above at BOAT US or West Marine?

Just a thought you might find useful.

For many years I have used clip-on polarized sunglasses over my prescription glasses. They're cheap and effective. Also, if you run into lower light conditions ( a common ocurrence when stream fishing), all you have to do is flip them up as necessary. I concur with Baitman, too. We always tell ourself we didn't come to Abaco to save money. It seems to ease the sting, somehow.......

My husband has had two pairs of polarized sunglasses that were made in Fort Lauderdale. Now that he has lost the second pair, he can't find the company.
The were about $125.00 and were great for fishing. They came with the neck strap, removable leather glare sides and two different types of arms. One curved and one straight. If there is anyone in that area that could scout them out in Fort Lauderdale, there would be a bazillion Abaco points waiting in heaven. Can you imagine what Abaco heaven (in heaven) is like???? Not that I want to find out anytime too soon....
