Just returned from a 2 week stay in Hopetown,,everything getting back to normal,, very surprised to see restorations in full swing. Alll the trees are wind blown with new growth showing. Most houses that had damage was gutter and roof damage. The Harbours Edge is working hard to repair damage and Clay say's they are hoping to be up and running by mid December.
All beach access steps are destroyed,, only way to the beach is by the Methodist Church.
Wonderful weather for 2 weeks,, one day of rain, which was the first since the hurricanes,, much needed to fill the cisters.
The worst damage we saw was Lloyd's 2 houses by the edge of the Harbour,, both totally destroyed.
As usual Vernon and his bread and pies were plentiful.
Spent alot of time at Capt'n Jacks,, very little damage,, Lana and Jack are working hard to keep things going.
On Da Beach opened while we were there,, very minimal damage, Abaco Inn wasn't up and running yet but could see alot of progress.
Sea Spray was back up and running,, still having problems with Rocky bay, and water coming from the ocean side,, and breaching the dune ,, they Keep rebuilding,, the dune.
Wonderful trip,, still able to get a boat from Stafford at Sea Horse,, and visit the out Islands,, and Maitland took us fishing a couple times. we spent the day at Nippers and just tooling around the sea of Abaco.
The liquour store in town wasn't open much,, but they had roof damage.
Of course Lighthouse Liquours was open and even delivered to our dock.
Munchies had opened on Saturday before we left.
Still no internet access,, cable came on Thursday the 5th of Nov,, geez we didn't even miss not having TV
