I respect everyone's opinion, but there seem to be those that oppose anything new that has potential pitfalls.LNG is a clean energy alternative that will be available to a country that depends on "old generation" diesel technology.I have seen these anti-Lng scare tactic documentaries before. All I can say is this, right in downtown Boston for the past 30 odd years,is one of the largest LNG depots I have ever seen........never a disaster in all that time.LNG causes no respiratory ailments when burned, cannot pollute the water, does not pollute the air and is lighter than air when it escapes to the atmosphere.
Wouldn't this fuel make more sense powering BEC's generators than diesel fuel? BTW/The local anti-LNG slant here has been..."Why should we do this for Florida." Well,if Bahamian politicians don't design this agreement so the Bahamas has the right to inexpensively buy this product for their own use,all is lost.

BUT when LNG tankers arrive in other port areas (US) all other boat traffic has to be informed and stay out of the tankers path and general area (I forget the time duration and radius).

And I'd be curious to know what the landside infrastructure (pipelines etc) are like at the rerminal and distribution points.

Just my 2 cents.

As far as I knew this was just a place to put the plant, I don't know that BEC is going to be using the gas because we don't have natural gas generators so therefore the LNG plant is a bit useless to us.

The slide show presentation is very dooms-dayish but I think that people need to know, they need to learn about it on their own and not just take everything at face value. I plan on learning as much about the whole process as I possibly can. Education is key

Regarding the Boston LNG facility, locals and feds are trying to get a new facility built on one of the outermost Brewster Islands, keeping all danger outside and away from the large populated area where the existing facility is. Think terrorism.
