Just bought condo in Treasure

Got a few questions - hope you can help

Have 2 golf carts coming next week to Treasure from the US - do they need tags - if so how do I get them? I know the duty is like 23%.

Who do you get cable and high speed internet from?

Are you allowed to put the carts on the highway from Marsh to Treasure - we have to pick them up at Customs in Marsh.

Condo came with a car. How do I get it transfered and where.

The golf carts have to be insured and licensed just like a car.
When you get the serial numbers of the carts, go to an Insurance company(like Abaco Insurance in Marsh Harbour) and get insurance on the carts. Then go to Road Traffic in Marsh Harbour. Bring proof of insurance and proof that duty tax was paid on the carts and get license plates at Road Traffic dept. The proof of duty paid is a form that customs will give your clearing broker and your broker should give you the form stamped by customs so that you can get your license plates. You can now drive the carts from Marsh Harbour to Treasure Cay.(but I would not advise it) It is 25 miles to Treasure Cay. Hire a trucking company(like Alburys trucking) to take the carts to Treasure Cay. You don't want to make it half way and end up stalling because of dead battery or out of gas

Next item. Car. The previous owner has to sign the back of the license disk that is one the inside of the windshield and also furnish you with a bill of sale for the vehicle stating the year and model of the car. Get insurance on the car. Take the license disk , proof of insurance, and the old license plates (if it has plates) and take into road traffic dept and they will license car for you. After it is licensed, then you can drive the car.

Road traffic is located a few blocks west of the public dock in Marsh Harbour next to the Ambassador Inn.

Road and Traffic comes to TC weekly, usually on Thursday. Check at the police station for confirmation. You will need plates and insurance for the golf carts. Liability insurance should run around 120$ per vehicle.

BTW if you pay in B$ then the claim is settled in B$. Suggest you pay ALL insurances in USD to save future aggrevation.

re internet, Batelco has good DSL service and is very reasonable for high speed. You can get wireless but you may need an outside antenna on top of the condo if you are over in Mariners Cove.
