Island Time, Your pictures didnt post. I cannot wait to travel back to Guana Cay. The surf there is so peaceful and the reef break is tretcherous.... But I love it. I knew some surfers on the Island, but haven't really seen any of them when I've been there last...http://nicolefinaske.com/images/259_5912n.jpg

Is there ever any contests in Guana Cay? Has anyone ever tried to put a surf shop on the Island? How long would that last? All the hurricanes would demolish that shop... Do you think a Surf shop would last there or go out of business rather fast? Im sure the locals there would buy buy buy right? I mean how far would they have to travel to get a board?

There were surf boards for rent on guana but , unfortunately someone broke in to the building and stoled them. So if you have plans bringing any surf boards with you keep a close I on them.
ChefFP10482.
New to the board, but not to Guana...my sister Riss dragged me down three years ago for her wedding, and this will be our third time back.
First, the handle is from a different website, so don't be fooled: I'm new to surfing. Lots of open water experience, but new to this. The only time I've spent surfing has been in Toffino, British Columbia. Long Beach & Sombrio.
I'm planning on bringing down a board for our trip in Feb. We're staying at the Sea Shore Villas. What is the best beach for me to camp out on, considering I'm still a beginner? I'm thinking the Elephant Beach, just SE of Nippers Beach. Less coral reef...more of a sand bar.
I'm determined to figure this sport out if it takes a couple hours per day to add to my whole 12 hours experience...I'll be down for two weeks.
Thoughts? Advise? Snide remarks?
