I will visiting Hopetown in June and would like to receive some feedback on snorkeling hot spots between Guana Cay and Little Harbor.

Walk any beach on the ocean, bring your equipment with you, look towards the east. You will not have any trouble finding a spot to snorkel. Third largest reef in the world. Hot spots everywhere.

two of my favorites are the North end of Guana (ocean side) and Fowl Cay.Sandy is good but you REALLY need to watch the tides. Both Fowl and Sandy are parks so look but don't touch!!!! Get the Dodge Guide and check out the snorkeling section

way too many to list. The reefs off Johnnys Cays, N or Hope Town can be very nice, both to look at and to get grouper, hog fish and conch. There are some whale bones out there too, but only the smaller ones remained in August ( a few small ribs and disc's). The reefs of Guana, off the N side of Bakers Bay very pretty. A very small but pretty reef accessable from the beach- E of the islets by Tahiti Beach. Sigh, I miss it already! Voyager has arrived in Washington State 2 days ago and will undergo repair before heading off to explore the Northwest. I'd like to stay active on the board and so, occassionally, will add my two cents.

A great place to snorkel is right off Hopetown Lodge on the ocean. It is beautiful! If you're going to be up at Green Turtle, the snorkeling up there is even better. Have fun!

last June. The coral didn't look good. Lots of algae growth and not many fish. Anyone have any thoughts on what's happening there?

I dont know were you are looking at the reefs you are describing? We are snorkling several times a week in the parks and alot of times in the ocean east of the cays. These areas look as good to us as they did almost thirty years ago. Some of the spots close to settlements may not have as many fish as they did years ago but the coral in most spots is fine. There are areas on some of the western shores that do have algae on the rocks and have for the thirty years I have known these areas, this is a natural thing.
