I have sat right there, ate fish samiches and drank rum punches until closing time. Nice place to re-rax! Enjoy.

It is cold and dreary here in ATL, too. Unfortunately, I have about 8 months and a get up until I get to return to Abaco. Nothing like sun and blue water of Abaco to cure the rainy day blues. Thanks for sharing.

Gator or Abacomah:
Where is this gorgeous beach at on Treasure? Is there a restaurant there? Gotta check this out in just.... 14 more days! We are flying over on Vintage Air and I promised my friend that we would be sipping rum drinks by 11:00!

The entire 3 1/2 mile stretch of beach at Treasure looks like this. It is absolutely breath taking. This photo was taken right by the Coco Bar just across from town. You'll see a paved parking lot where the old hotel used to be. Just walk through it and down to the beach. You can get your rum drink right there at the Coco Bar. Viola makes the best pina coladas .... ask her to put some extra rum float on the tophttp://coconuttelegraph.net/forums/images/icons/icon10.gif
Where are you staying in Treasure? I can give you more specific directions to the beach. I think we'll just miss you. We leave on the 9th http://coconuttelegraph.net/forums/images/icons/icon9.gif
P.S. Vintage is really great!

Abacomah,
Thanks for the quick response.... I don't know about you but I am sitting here at nearly midnight on this message board. I am sick ...I AM so addicted! I cannot help myself. This message board community is great.
As for my plans: I am staying on Green Turtle (coming and going by ferry) but since we are flying in and out of Treasure I know there will be time for a fish sam'ich and cold drink! I have been to Abacos several times but never that far from Marsh Harbour and my friend has never been. I can't wait to see her face when she sees that water!
I look forward to your posts by the way. Great information... all of it. I hope you have an absolutely fabulous time on your trip!

OK..you need a little more info to plan the rum drink thing on Treasure. The airport is about 7-8 miles north of the entrance to Treasure. The entrance to Treasure at the highway is about 3 miles from the beach. So, to get to Treasure Cay Beach from the airport you will need to take a taxi for about $20 each way and it's about 11 miles.
Now, the Green Turtle Ferry dock is just a couple of miles south of the airport. So if you take the taxi to Treasure Cay Beach you will pass the entrance to the Green Turtle Ferry Dock on your left.
Now, I'm pretty sure you can get a rum drink at the ferry dock.
It might be a better use of your time and money to go ahead to Green Turtle, then visit Treasure if you are getting a rental boat.
Hope this all makes sense.
Be glad to help you with more info...just PM me.

Abacomah,
Thanks for the info.... I had no idea that the beach was that far from the ferry dock. Being that I have never been there this will truly be an adventure for me too. I love surprises!

If you have a rental boat you can go from GTC right up to the TC beach. Less than a 30 minute trip. Coco Bar also has great cheesburgers. And be sure to visit Pineapples on GTC.
