2 couples coming down from Canada in Dec for 9 days. Staying at Aerie and have the boat rental in place. I'm wondering, if we wanted to go to Nassau for the day, what is the best way to get there and back. Also wondering if there is much to do New Years Eve. Also I am having trouble finding the Dodge guide. Any help will be much appreciated.

Can't help with your other questions but I do believe there is a lot going on on NYE and it's not simple getting to Nassau for a day trip.

It is possible to do a day trip to Nassau as there is a very early flight and you could return on the last flight to MH; however, one would have to do a speed tour of Nassau, unless you have specific plans for that day. Better to do a overnight if you want to see more.
There is alot going on for New Years, so you can find plenty to do and enjoy.
Have a great time!

Thank you Elcahun and Seaglass for you input. I think I'll save Nassau for another trip. Looking forward to a great time. Hope the weather will be fine and the water warm enough in the shallows to swim.

Might want to bring shortie wet suits.
try bluewater books in ft lauderdale for dodge crusing ( required reading and referance ) ... marine/ boat books only .... great store and service ... also on the web ... from order to in your hands, perhaps 5 days

Do a search for "White Sound Press" for the Dodge guide. Had to go to 2 stores last week here in TC to find one. They aren't ordering more until the new ones come out.

There is plenty to do for new years, there is Junkanoo in Green Turtle Cay as well as in Hope Town. Most of the resturants and Hotels will have NYE parties and dinners. I would suggest checking in on reservations if you want to attend any of the parties etc because they do fill up fast. Also if you want to spend the night in any of the other Cay's you want to check that out as fast as you can. NYE is always a really busy time.

Good idea, to make Nassau another trip. There's plenty to do in Abaco and you won't want to miss a day of it. We were there last December and found the water a bit cool. Shorty wet suit would probably do. We had pretty good weather but a couple days of rain (off and on). You may want to take a rain poncho, umbrella, light weight jacket and maybe one pair of light weight long pants. But through the day I wore tank tops and capris nearly every day of the 2 weeks we were there. Have fun. I'm jealous.
