This is a new one for me! I was looking at flights on Continentals website out of FLL to MHH, and the flight time is a 5 minute difference after March 11, 2007. If you book before the 10th it is all in EST (eastern standard) but after March 11, the bahamas are changing time zones. It may just be me but i think daylight savings time is April 1, 2007 between 2:00-3:00 am. Good Luck to anyone buying seats, don't miss your connections! Could this be true, did they make a new time zone, or could they be moving the island???? :) Oh well, wanted to see who else noticied this?

Funny, I just read this the other day.

Date change in 2007

On August 8, 2005, President George W. Bush signed the Energy Policy Act of 2005. This Act changed the time change dates for Daylight Saving Time in the U.S. Beginning in 2007, DST will begin on the second Sunday of March and end the first Sunday of November. The Secretary of Energy will report the impact of this change to Congress. Congress retains the right to revert the Daylight Saving Time back to the 2005 time schedule once the Department of Energy study is complete.

Change to daylight saving time

The bill amends the Uniform Time Act of 1966 by changing the start and end dates of daylight saving time starting in 2007. Clocks will be set ahead one hour on the second Sunday of March instead of the current first Sunday of April. Clocks will be set back one hour on the first Sunday in November, rather than the last Sunday of October. This will affect accuracy of electronic clocks that had pre-programmed dates for adjusting to daylight saving time. The date for the end of daylight saving time has the effect of increasing evening light on Halloween (October 31). The first Sunday in November sometimes occurs as little as two days before election day.
