Water Taxi?

We have always taken the ferries when going to Guana Cay from Marsh Harbour. From time to time you hear people refer to water taxi's. The ferry has always suited us fine but in looking for cheap airfare there is a possibility we could be left waiting for 3 hours till the next ferry. Has anyone heard of water taxi's and if so what would be the price from Marsh Harbour to Guana Cay and would you have to make prior arrangements. Thanks, BahamaJohn

I think the difference is between a scheduled ferry and a charter. We have occasionally arrived too late for the last scheduled ferry and have had to charter a "water taxi" for the ride out to Guana. We just recently charted a ferry, they simply charged us the roundtrip fee for each person instead of the one way fee.
