Hi All,
Sincerest wishes for a speedy recovery to all.
We've planned a dive vacation to Abacos/MH in early Dec. and are hoping that the hurricanes have not done too much damage to the reefs. I've been watch the boards and haven't seen any comments from anybody who has actually been underwater this month. What is the actual conditions underwater, please?
Thanks,

riss

Troy from Dive Guana had noted in a posting the other day about the conditions of the diving etc, however i can't seem to find it now. Perhaps he can do another report for us ....

I think you'll find the diving conditions back to "normal." Which also means that if there is another tropical event or just a strong front that the water will again get stirred up.

I have been diving between Frances and Jeanne and also after Jeanne and the reef at Fowl Cay and at the north end of Guana seem to have come through pretty well.

After Jeanne the water was very silty for almost 2 weeks but that cleared up very well and the water has returned to normal ( 60 to 80 foot ) visibility. This week we have had a unusually bad rage caused by early cold fronts. It has been around since Sunday but it is expected to lay down by tomorrow. This type of rage tends to clear quickly as soon as the wind direction changes and visibility can improve rapidly with a couple of tide changes

The coral itself has held up very well and it is truly amazing how mother natures structures stand up very well to the forces of mother nature
