Does anyone know how Hopetown is doing? Will they be rebuilt by February?

Hopetown is doing great. You could go now and be fine.

I spoke with Wilma at Abaco Inn a few hours ago, sounds like real progress is being made to much of the island. We'll be over there this w-end and will get you a better first hand report. It IS paradise, anyway.

Hopetown is coming along. It was difficult to see the destruction of everything in the storms' path. Everyone is rebuilding - stores, restaurants, Inns and private homes. Many private homeowners are still waiting for ins. adjusters to arrive before they can start cleanup. But there's great hope as usual! Capt. Jacks in HT had a HUGE Halloween party last nite (Sat) - maybe all the local kids and families and us non-locals. Abaco Inn has the bar open; the restaurant will be ready in two weeks. Sea Spray looks good and is open for you yachters. Try the conch. Rudy's and Munchies will be open soon. The south toward Tiloo is really washed out and beaten up. We saw many of the owners and they're rebuilding. HT really shows what determined people can do.
