It's time we all planned to throw our work gloves down for an evening of fun!!
The Island Roots Heritage Festival Committee is planning their second annual GUY FAWKES Ol' Time Fun Night on Green Turtle Cay, Friday, 5 November, 6pm to 9pm. It will be at the AWANA site next to the Long Dock. The Bonfire will be out at the Festival Site or Settlement Point.
Our best cooks on the island are preparing tons of Conch Chowder and our Fire Department is going to show us how a real hamburger should be grilled. Not to mention conch fritters, cotton candy, funnel cakes and guava duff. All home made and really tasty.
A highlight of the evening will be our GUY contest. Everyone is invited to make a guy, register it that night for $10 and win a great prize. Hayrides will be great fun too. Bring extra cash for the popular glow jewelry too!!
Close to 9pm we'll have the award ceremony for the Best GUY contest, PLUS a possible surprize visit by the guest of honour, and then we'll dance those GUYS to the Bonfire site, monitored by our Volunteer Fire Department. Then we will burn those GUYS !!! Last year it looked like the whole end of GTC was ablaze!
What better way to put these horrible storms behind us!!
Coming from the mainland?? We've arranged a special ferry for everyone leaving the Treasure Cay ferry dock at 6pm to Green Turtle Cay and returning at 9pm to Treasure Cay. Special roundtrip fare of $10 per person is being offered by the Green Turtle Ferry Service for this fun filled night.
See you there!!! Remember it's time to have some old fashion family fun!!!
Anyone want to post a thread to let everyone know how much fun we had last year??
