Hi, I am new to the site and traveling to Abacos next week for the first time: June 22-28. Staying in Treasure Cay. Have made a few inquiries into fly fishing guides for bonefish but have found them to be booked for the time frame I am traveling. i.e Different of Abacos People at Different of Abacos had noone to recommend as they were all booked.

This site has proved very informative and seems to be perused frequently. So I turn to you: does anyone know of a guide who may be available for any of the dates referenced above? Interested in fly fishing only.

Any information provided is appreciated.

thank you

Superb guide in every way. www.topgunbonefishing.com 242-367-4464 (H) or 242-551-5172 (C). Also makes incredible conch salad. He cuts the conch in thin strips almost like linguini. Call Terrance. Tell him I sent you.

Check out Fishing in Abaco (http://www.************/FishininAbaco2005.html); there is an extensive discussion about bonefishing, as well as a list of guides.

Good day,
Where do you want to fish? Different of Abaco is south of Marsh Harbor in Casuarina.
If you are planning to go that far you could fish The Marls, or Cherokee Sound with one of the excelent Guides out of Cherokee.
I don't know any guides out of Treasure Cay, but I know, and have fished with many
of the Guides from Cherokee.
Let me know if you would like some contact info.

Regards,
R.

that is why I recommended Terrance as he is in close proximity to where this fellow was staying. Terrance can readily be there. If at other locations, there would be other excellent folks to recommend, depending on location.

I believe Terrance is also known as "Bonefish Town". I fished with him on one of my first trips to the Abacos and had a great time. Fish the marls for lots of small fish - Cherokee for plenty of small to medium fish - if you want big bonefish go to Green Turtle and look up Ricky Sawyer.

Thank you all very much.

I am completely unfamiliar with the geography of the island as this is my first trip. I don't know how far one place is from another. I don't know how far Different of Abaco is from Treasure Cay, I only contacted them because it was recommended by someone here stateside.

Any and all contact information would be great. I called Terrance last night but he was not in. I am going to try again today.

R---Any contact information you could offer will be utilized. I am more comfortable going with a recommended guide.

Thanks again.

Check out Ricky Sawyer (bonefish@abacoflyfish.com) out of Green Turtle Cay. He consistently hooks up the big ones. He could pick you up at the ferry dock.

Ronnie Sawyer on Green Turtle Cay. Read earlier posts on this forum re: George Poveromo's fishing program on ESPN2 featuring bonefishing on GTC with Ronnie Sawyer as guide.
